Welcome Home Sister Baker!

Dearest friends and family,

Well, I have had several requests for a new blog to be created! So here it is! Happy day! Well a lot has been going on in this little life of mine! All starting with my return home from my mission. For those of you who are unfamiliar with what that means, I served a voluntary mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I spent a year and a half in the great land of New York, working with the Spanish folk (and learning Spanish!)...teaching them about our beliefs, providing community service, and doing the work of the Lord. There are no words to describe the experiences that I had there, and my feelings on the whole event, but it is safe to say that it has changed my life forever, and my gratitude for the privilege and opportunity to serve is without measure. So that is where I have been for the past year and a half. I got back in early April, so since then I have been trying to get settled back into normal non-missionary life! I'll bullet point a few of the highlights and happenings since I've been home:
  • A wonderful week and a half long vacation with family here in Utah (minus dad who had to have emergency surgery on his eye for a detached retina)
  • An even more wonderful 3ish week long vacation in Washington with immense amounts of time spent with family, and hiking
  • Aidan (my little brother) was baptized!
  • A new job as a Teller with Brighton Bank...whoo hoo!
  • Acceptance into Fall semester at BYU (Brigham Young University)
  • Summer English writing class at the LDS Business college over summer
  • Dad returning back to K-9 duty
  • Immense enjoyment of various movies, and music
So those are some of the bigger things! I'm really excited for this summer! I'll be working full time (40 hours a week) and trying to keep up with my online class at the same time. In the long-term I'm planning to apply to a study abroad program in London for the Winter semester of 2016! So I'm pretty excited about that. All is well here in the life of Kendra! I'll write periodically to keep ya'll informed on the big happenings and some of the little moments :) I love you all!! Adios!
